This article will discuss everything you should know about Epic Drakons, their released date, color variants and what makes them Epic — their unique EPIC skills!
According to the Dictionary, to become “Epic” is to “extend beyond the usual or ordinary” and this is also true in Drakons. An Epic Drakon extends beyond the basic or normal Drakons. The Rare Drakons are ahead in terms of beauty and attack points, but when it comes to natural skills, the Epic is beyond comparison. It is the only Drakon depending on release version that has its own unique card skill and that is what makes it Epic!
Epic Drakons are also considered Limited Edition Drakons as they are normally created to commemorate every Chinese New Year celebration or a special event or tribute.
An Epic Drakon will deliver Epic victories once you are able to master its Epic skill. In case you are a lucky owner of an Epic Drakon, you may take advantage of its Epic Skill by unlocking it at Rune Levels 24 or 25. As you may know, you will need your Epic Drakon’s own elemental orbs to do that.
Epic Drakons were first released in the Ethereum Network in 2020, but starting this year (2021), all Epic Drakons will be made available via Polygon Network and to give in to the many requests of Drakon Masters, we have relaunched and reloaded these Epics in Polygon this October 2021. Check them out in Drakon’s Marketplace.
To date, there are 5 Epic Drakons and they are as follows by order of their released date:
1. EPIC RAT DRAKONS (CNY 2020)
This Epic Drakon was launched in the Ethereum Network on January 31, 2020 to commemorate the Year of the Rat and it is also considered a special Epic Drakon as it is the first among all Epic Drakons.

There were also special edition Epic Rats that were given to Drakons Beta Testers and initial users, they are a mixed of these color variants:
EPIC SKILL: PLAGUE BITE with its status effect: INFECT PER TURN
Since 2020 marks the year when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, so similarly, the special card skill of the Epic Rat is also virus caused by its PLAGUE BITE.
The plague bite is a powerful physical move as it spreads disease that infects and weakens enemy Drakons’ defenses 3 consecutive times.

2. EPIC WRLD DRAKONS 2020
As the pandemic was looming in the year 2020, there were also heroes who rose above the situation and gave us a ray of hope. Drakons Team decided to pay tribute to our modern day heroes or our beloved Frontliners with the launch of the EPIC WRLD DRAKONS on 25 May 2020. These Drakons were made in collaboration with The Worlds A Mine, the home of Crypto Philanthropy Projects and who made it possible to make this Drakon as Epic as it could be. Be proud to own one! We’ll tell you the many reasons why:
a. It pays tribute to our Frontliners — the EPIC WRLD Drakon was launched in special palettes similar to those scrubs worn by our medical frontliners with the exception of the violet/purple shade which we can attribute to the color of our collaboration partner.
We chose to give tribute to our Frontliners as they are the bravest, most caring and hardworking among all of us during this pandemic. We cannot imagine surviving this pandemic world without our nurses, our doctors, all of those in the medical field, the government, the banks and even the delivery guys who delivers our essentials. They are all essential to our world and that what makes all of them EPIC!

FRONTLINERS TRIBUTE
Here are the details on how we designed the Drakons and their platform to pay tribute to our Frontliners:
We made sure that it is an AIR DRAKON as COVID-19 is believed to be transmissible via Air, it is only fitting that the Drakon also purifies cleans the virus of the world (Globe) thru Air.
b. It is a Crypto Philanthropic Drakon — it is a Drakon for a cause. During the initial launch of the Drakons in May 2020, 50% of the sales benefitted the Frontliners and Children under UNICEF New Zealand, it raised 8.45 ETH or 1871.63 USD. This is also the reason why the stethoscope in the platform of the Drakon points to the map of New Zealand as they (Unicef NZ) were the chosen beneficiary of our partner.
c. It is the first Epic that was designed to Breed — Epic Drakons do not normally breed as they are not designed for it, but we made an exception for the WRLD Epic Drakon by allowing it to breed in a short period of time from August 3–9, 2020. The short breeding period hatched 16 new Epic WRLD Drakons.
c. It is an Epic Collaboration — The Drakons team was very happy and honored with its partnership with the The Worlds A Mine Team as they did not only helped in promoting the awareness for the cause but they also shared and rewarded Drakon Masters who purchased the WRLD Drakon (May 25–29,2020) with 2.5M $WRLD (TheWorldsAMine) Tokens. In turn, we gifted them back with a 1/1 creation and special edition WRLD Drakon (see image).
d. It is an Epic Drakon with an Epic Skill — The Epic WRLD Drakon is special as it is both a Limited Edition, a Crypto Philanthropy Project, and also an Epic Drakon with a unique card move called “Counter Gale.”
EPIC SKILL: COUNTER GALE with its status effect: PURIFY
They are the antidote to the pandemic created by the EPIC RAT in Drakons world as they are the only Drakons with an epic skill called COUNTER GALE.
Counter Gale is a magic attack that damages the enemy while purifying the Drakon from any status effects. It immunizes itself from being petrified, stunned, electrified or from being Infected by a plague bite.

3. EPIC CNY 2021 DRAKONS (OX)
This Epic Drakon is the first Epic Drakon to be launched in the Polygon Network. It was released on February 12, 2021 to commemorate the Year of the Ox.

EPIC SKILL: BULL RUN with its status effect: BULL GORE
The Bull Run is a physical skill that summons the spirit of the Celestial Bull allowing it to repeatedly gore its opponent Drakon all throughout the battle until the last card move.

4. EPIC ROT 2021
The Epic Rot Drakon is our collaboration with the community of Rottenswap (see information about their project). It was released on April 16, 2021, this is also the first time we have considered to design a “Rotten” Drakons.

EPIC SKILL: DECAYING ACID with its status effect ACID BURN PER TURN
The Decaying Acid is a magical attack that allows the Rot Epic Drakons to cast a burning acid explosion on its opponent causing decay by chemical burns.

4. EPIC HEROES 2021
Every year, we pay tribute to heroes who uplifts and gives inspiration and hope to a great majority. It is through their honorable achievements or contributions and their simple acts of kindness that definitely makes our world a better place to live in. These are characters that epitomizes what we believe are Epics! and we want to immortalize it in the blockchain thru Drakons. It’s our simple appreciation and salute to the indomitable spirit and wonder of humanity despite the pandemic and the great challenges we face everyday. We shouldn’t forget the heroes among us, they are needed more than ever…
Last year, we paid tribute to our beloved Frontliners and for this year, Drakons pay tribute to the Olympians. Their discipline, fortitude, strength and honor makes them epics in our eyes.
With the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, so many brought honor to their respective countries and in the Philippines, where Drakons hails from, it was a first gold medal after so many years. This momentous event is something we want to salute with the launch of the EPIC HEROES during the country’s National Heroes Day on August 30, 2021.

EPIC HERO (AIR DRAKON) SKILL: TORNADO LIFT with its status effect BARBELL CRASH
The Tornado Lift is a magic attack that summons the power of the Titan Typhon to produce powerful tornadoes. The tornadoes lifts objects crossing its path to be hurled and directed to its opponent Drakon that will result to continuous damage in multiple turns with a chance to stun upon impact.
EPIC HERO (EARTH DRAKON) SKILL: KAMAO with its status effect SPEED BOOST
The Kamao ( a Filipino word for “fist”) is a physical skill that allows this Drakon to use its inner heroic fighting ability before unleashing a barrage of strong punches against its opponent Drakon while greatly enhancing its speed.

Here’s a summary of all abovementioned Epics in the Blockchain. There will be no more re-issue of these Drakons in the future so make sure you catch them in Drakons Marketplace before they are gone.
